About Me

In this blog you won't find fluff. You will find real. I am married to my best friend and a mother of two. Don't be afraid of the Southern Sass that you'll find here- like I said, you'll find real.

A dog and a fish

This is how our dinner conversation went this evening with Thing One:

Old Man: "Are you ready to move to our new house?"

Thing One: "Yeah! I want a fish tank!"

OM: "You want a fish tank? What about a fish? Do you want fish?"

TO: "Oh, yeah. I want one fish. And I want a fish tank. And a dog."

OM: "You want a fish, fish tank and and dog for our new house?"

TO: "Yes. After dinner tonight, I want to go to the pet store and get a new dog and a fish tank and get a new fish. Oh, and we better get a dog house for our new dog, so he has a place to live."

I think he will be disappointed when we move and there is no fish or dog. Or fish tank or dog house. Just the new house. But, we have a backyard. And it has grass. Which is no small feat here in the desert. BTW- It was about 97 here today. I know you're all jealous.

And, dinner was coconut curry chicken. It. Was. Yum.

Y'all come back, now!

In which I start a blog...again

With no further ado-

WELCOME!

Many have asked, so here it is!

I guess as an update on all of us here as Casa de Crazy: we are all...surviving! But, I'll go through each of us one by one.

Old Man- Finals will be over on Thursday and the Old Man will be finished with the first two years of medical school! But, don't let that fool you- boards are just over a month away and he's being a smarty pants responsible student and taking DO and MD boards, so, things won't change much around here until those are over.

Thing One- He's 4 now. Super smart. Hilarious. Kind of distracted interested in everything. And just started karate. It's good to help keep him focused. Oh, and he's always picking his nose. Not sure how to break that habit. Maybe I should put fingernail polish remover on his fingers. But, then we might have a high 4 year old on our hands. Not pretty, folks. Not pretty.

Thing Two- He's 1 1/2. Runs. Jumps (off the couch). Laughs. At. Everything. Trying to speak words. And always has his hands down the back of his diaper.

Yours Truly- I am not as crazy as I used to be. Who are we kidding, I am. I just hide it better. It's hot here. But, I am from the South, so I don't sweat, I glisten. I don't usually have a clean house. But, my kids are pretty happy, so I guess that makes up for it. I have tried many different little Pintrest organizing/cleaning/makeitcute schemes and failed realized they weren't for me. So, I'll just keep on truckin'.

Some funnies from the day:

Thing One started singing Blake Shelton's "Boys 'Round Here" in the car today. Hi.freaking.larious. No joke. Especially when he said, "Chew tab...What is tabbacca, Mom?"

I listen to country music because it reminds me of home and makes me happy. And I want to bring out the redneck in my kids as much as possible expose my children to their roots.

For your viewing pleasure- Blake Shelton "Boys Round Here":

Sooooo...this was my first time viewing this video. That's a whole lotta bosum, y'all. I think I'll wait to show the children...

Y'all come back now!
